Job Overview Job Overview Summary About the Agency This position is located at Fort McCoy, WI. Centered on 60,000 acres between Sparta and Tomah, WI. Used primarily as a military training center. PROGRAM: Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Child, Youth, and School Services (CYSS) CYSS recognizes the challenges of our Soldiers and their Families, by offering quality programs for children, youth, and students. CYSS supports the Army Family covenant by reducing the conflict between mission readiness and parental responsibility. This position is located primarily within the Child Development Center (CDC) working with children 0:5 years of age, and is a year round facility. Announcement will have a first cutoff date of June 30, 2017 and applicants that submit a complete application packet prior to that date and found eligible will be given first consideration. This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as a need for recruitment occurs. Applicants will be referred to selecting officials as vacancies occur. Pay may be set between the bottom and top of the advertised rate. Credit may be given for NAF time in grade but most new appointees pay will be set at the bottom of the pay rate for each level. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques. Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trip outings and special events. Promotes and models safety, fitness, and health and nutrition practices. Assists in maintaining program participation data and completing required daily reports. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal). Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis. Skill Level:In addition to the requirements listed above, three months experience and possess Army Entry Level Training Certificate. OR Six months experience at least nine (9) semester hours college credits with course content directly related to the age group to which assigned. Target Level:In addition to the requirements listed under Skill level qualifications, 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate degree or least 60 semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content directly related to the age group to which assigned OR A bachelor degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above.
